Mathematics Teachers’ Interviewing Strategies for Diagnosing Students’ Learning Obstacles

The teachers' awareness of students' learning obstacles is crucial in the reflective practice developing effective didactic designs. in-service Indonesian mathematics teachers diagnosing rising. However, despite importance students’ for teaching profession, there little research evidence supporting strategies Indonesia student barriers through interview process. purpose this study to analyze interviewing that use order diagnose obstacles. This a qualitative case and employs thematic-content analysis. In-service high school from three provinces participate study. used video recordings conducting interviews investigate obstacles, triangulated with reports. findings show two main are social-emotional didactical-pedagogical strategies. present our expanded explanation each strategy, as well some suggestions further research, intending assist establishing culture among part professional development.
